There was another good Minor Football win for our lads against St. Vincent on a damp and foggy Good Friday evening.

With eight Minor players injured and away for the long weekend we were short of making a team. Great credit and much appreciation to the U16 Management for providing us with five players.
We won the toss and played with the gentle breeze and started well, playing good ball through hand passing & kicking early ball into the inside forwards and kicked good points to give us a 4 point lead before the opposition responded with a few frees. Our Backs were defending well too and transferred good fast ball up the field and our midfielders and forwards scored another 2-2. Vincent’s got a couple of runs on us before half time scoring a penalty and another few points from play and frees left the score 2-6 to 1-4 at the short whistle.

We were playing better football as a team on the restart and got some great team scores from play and our continued attaching delivered a lot of scoring frees too. All the while our opponents were picking of a few scores, both sides scored 2 more goals each from play. As a very heavy fog came descended, we got tired and eased off a little towards the end but held out for a good third round win on a score line of Bride Rovers 4-12 to 3-11

Well done to the lads and thanks to the U16 players that really played well and helped with the result.

Our next Minor Football Game is Home to Kilworth/Araglin Friday 25th
