The 2025 Community Clean-Up Week draws to a close, and the club wish to sincerely thank all those who gave some time to picking litter, cleaning and improving our area.

The follow-on from the week is that...

a) the Ladies club have launched the 'Rovers Re-turn scheme whereby they will accept and plastic bottles or drink cans you may gather via domestic/work use.

b) the club now have a baseline number of helpers in specific areas who hopefully will commit to undertaking an annual focussed clean-up. Other areas and group will be invited and hopefully come on board in 2026.

c) the club now have a number of 'picker sticks' and refuse bags that can be loaned out to any group who wish to tidy a specific area at any stage.

d) All who took part will be passed the detail of Teresa Lane 087 238 8191 and Ger Kearney 086 385 9237 who coordinate regular clean-up events in the village.

Finally, we hope the initiative will show that the litter that accumulates in our villages and roadsides is unnecessary and can be easily prevented. We ask everyone to take their litter home and bin it.
